Call for free Papers :

Scientific papers are invited in the form of oral presentations from professionals in field of Occupational Health, Safety, Hygiene & Environment. Only limited papers will be accepted as oral presentation. All those desirous of presenting a paper in the conference are requested to go through the guidelines below--

Entrance Qualifications:

  • The paper must be original and unpublished work of the authors.
  • Those who wish to present free papers must be registered as a delegate.
   
  • In case the presenting author is not able to do so due to certain unforeseen circumstances then he should so inform the Conference Secretary along with the name of one of his co-authors who has been entrusted with the responsibility for the presentation of the paper.
  • If the presenting Author/Co-author fails to present their scientific paper in the conference after its acceptance without appropriate justification, they will be debarred from presenting scientific papers for the next 2 years and their names would be circulated in the news letter of IAOH for such academic inappropriateness.

Free Papers:

  • The papers must be typed on one side of pages.
  • Use a clear, double-spaced, black typeface from a laser printer or electronic typewriter.
  • The paper must be written in English.
  • The title should be written in Capital Letters.
  • State the Name of the Author/s, Department/Institution at which the work was carried out.
  • The paper must be structured under the headings of Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Discussions, Conclusion, Implications and References.
  • You may include Graphs, Tables and Flow Diagrams.

Guidelines For Abstracts:

Abstracts that critically discuss cutting edge themes and concepts in occupational health and those that describe research findings or project outcomes will be selected. We encourage submission of abstracts that relate to the broad themes of the conference.

Format for Abstracts:

  1. Title
  2. .Authors, Designation and Institutional Affiliation (if any): Please list authors in order (First Author to Last).
  3. Background and Purpose
  4. Description of research Material & Methods
  5. Results & conclusion
  6. Discussion and implications
  7. Maximum number of words (parts 3-6 above) is 250.

Formatting Essentials:

  • The abstract should be typed clearly with laser printer or electronic type writer in single spacing up to maximum 250 words. It will be printed as such in abstract book by the photo-offset, hence be especially careful about typographical and formatting errors. Please do not fold the paper while mailing.
  • The abstract should contain a brief informative title in capitals. It should be printed in “ARIAL FONT SIZE 14 AND BOLD”.
  • Name of all authors – first name, initials of middle name, last name. Name of presenting author should be first and underlined. Degrees should not be mentioned. Institutional affiliations of the authors should to be mentioned. This & subsequent abstract should be printed in “ARIAL FONT SIZE 11”.
  • One line should be left blank between authors & abstract. No line to be left between title and the authors.

Method of Selection:
The Scientific Committee of the conference will use, among others, the following four criteria for reviewing the abstracts:

  1. Relevance to present scenario and conference theme
  2. Clarity of ideas
  3. Originality
  4. Methodological rigor

Abstract Deadline: October 31, 2008
Date by which authors will be informed of selection: November 30, 2008
Paper Deadline: December 15, 2008

General considerations:

  • You may submit a soft copy as an MS Word document on a CD by courier or as a copy of Word Attachment by e-mail. Scientific Committee will be happy to advice you in preparing your Paper and final computer slide presentation, if selected. There will be excellent audiovisual facilities for presentations, Viz. LCD Computer projection, 35 mm slide projector and video projection.
  • Time for each scientific paper presentation will be strictly restricted to ten minutes. Ensure that the presenting author's address, telephone numbers, fax numbers and e-mail addresses are mentioned. You must send your brief resume, not exceeding 10 sentences along with your paper.
  • All proposals/ abstracts for papers and posters will be reviewed by a scientific committee. A total number of 48 abstracts for papers and end number for poster presentations shall be allowed. The decision on selection of abstracts by the Scientific Committee will final.
